Inexpensive Valentine’s Day Gifts

Valentine’s Day, like many other holidays has become very commercialized. You may have noticed that the price of roses tends to increase around this time of year. The cost of a box of candy can also be out of the average persons budget. This tends to make people think that a great Valentine’s Day gift has to be expensive. Gifts are about the giving, not the price tag. I hope that this article will provide you with a few tips to finding an inexpensive Valentine’s Day gift that also shows the receiver that you care.

Just because the price of roses has sky rocketed doesn’t mean that giving flowers is out of the question. Consider giving your Valentine a single red rose or their favorite flower. Another great idea is to give a plant on Valentine’s Day. You could decorate the potted plant to coincide with the Valentine theme. Take a sheet of inexpensive red wrapping paper and place under the pot. Bunch the paper up and around the pot and tie with a white bow to hold it in place. This would be a gift that can grow as your relationship grows.

Valentine’s Day often falls in the middle of the week. This can really present a problem for the busy couple. In this case, a great idea is to plan an at-home-date. Set the mood, order a pizza and rent some romantic movies. You could even give your true love gift basket filled with movies, microwave popcorn, candy and a bottle of wine. This will allow the two of you to spend the evening together and catch up on each others lives.

One final gift idea is a journal. Journals come in a variety of sizes, shapes and styles anywhere books are sold. You can chose a journal in a style you know your partner will really love. Many journals come with a picture or a quote on the cover which should be meaningful and special to your partner. This is important because your partner is more likely to fill the pages if they like the look of the journal. You should write a heartfelt note on the first page of the journal that lets your partner know why they are important to you. Try to make the note meaningful but short. Include an encouragement to your partner to use the journal to place all their fears and concerns in. This will let your partner know that you care about them and their well being.
